Vinaigrette salad is popular in most Eastern European countries.
The most common ingredients for this salad include beets, potatoes, carrots, dill pickles, onion, and sunflower oil. One identifying feature of this salad is that all the ingredients are cut into small uniform squares.
The small squares required for this salad can be accomplished by using a knife or a special tool called a "salad cutter" that has been specifically designed for this very purpose. You can find this tool in our online shop.
As with most recipes, there are variations/additions to the basic ingredients. Some of these variations are green peas, red kidney beans, or sauerkraut.
This salad is as beautiful as it is delicious!
