There are few things as wonderful as the smell of fresh-baked bread!
However, for most people, the process of making homemade bread can be a daunting task, myself included.
Most of my bread making attempts up to this point have led me to disappointment. Spending all that time and ending up with a hard, dry product.
That was my experience until I stumbled across a recipe for Pirozhki. Pirozhki is an Eastern European comfort food made with yeast dough stuffed with a filling, formed into an oval shape and baked or fried. Some common fillings for this delicious hand pie can range from ground meat, potatoes, cooked cabbage, egg & onion or fruit.
The first time I tried this recipe, I was thrilled at how simple it was and how wonderful it tasted. I have made this recipe several times, using different filling ingredients, and have been pleased with it every time.
